BAKERSFIELD, February 26, 2013 - The Bakersfield Jam (23-10) were defeated by the Springfield Armor (13-21) on Tuesday by a final score of 98-89.
The Jam got off to a good start as they shot 53 percent from the field to take a 25-21 advantage to end the first. However, Bakersfield's good start didn't translate to the second quarter as they scored a season-low for a quarter 13 points and fell behind 44-38 at halftime. After shooting 53 percent in that first period, the Jam shot 31% for the next three quarters and never got in a rhythm to take the lead back. Bakersfield's six-game winning streak comes to an end and close the month of February with a 6-1 record.
James Nunnally led the Jam off the bench with a game-high 20 points, making 5-of-6 three-pointers. Brian Butch finished the night with his 17^th double-double of the season as he posted 19 points and 15 rebounds. Stephen Dennis recorded 15 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and three steals while Adam Koch and Damion James each finished with 10 points.
The Armor was paced by Willie Reed who posted a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. Justin Johnson also scored 17 points off the bench to go along with nine rebounds and six assists. Kris Joseph finished with 16 points.
Next up, Bakersfield will battle the D-Fenders in Los Angeles this Saturday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. PST.
