Jam Beat D-Fenders for Fifth Straight Win

BAKERSFIELD, January 23, 2013 - The Bakersfield Jam defeated the Los Angeles D-Fenders 107-101 Wednesday night at the Toyota Sports Center. Damion James led the Jam with 25 points and nine rebounds.

Bakersfield outscored Los Angeles by six points in each of the first two quarters, building a 12 point lead at halftime (58-46). In that first half, the Jam shot 44% to D-Fenders 34% and made 8-of-20 three-pointers to Los Angeles' 0-of-7. Bakersfield continued to display good effort, energy and ball movement in the second half and ultimately earned a road victory against their division rival. The Jam have now won five straight games and improve to a 16-7 record, while the D-Fenders fall to 7-14.

Jerel McNeal had 20 points while James Nunnally scored 16 points off the bench. Diante Garrett tallied 14 points and had a team-high seven assists. Renaldo Major finished with 10 points off the bench.

The D-Fenders were paced by Elijah Millsap who scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Ronald Dupree had 23 points while Gary Flowers scored 22 points. Courtney Fortson recorded a double-double of 18 points and 12 assists.

Bakersfield will head back home for a pair of home games against the Reno Bighorns on Friday, January 25 and Saturday, January 26. Both game set to tip-off at 7 p.m. PT.
