Jam Beat Bighorns 114-105 for 5th Straight Win

BAKERSFIELD "" Six Jam players scored in double figures as Bakersfield (19-24) defeated the Reno Bighorns (25-20) 114-105 Saturday night at the Dignity Health Event Center. Ike Diogu notched his 18th double-double of the season by finishing with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Bakersfield and Reno kept the game competitive and close in the first half as there were a total of 14 lead changes and 11 ties in the first 24 minutes of play. Ike DIogu scored 16 of his 28 points in the first half and helped the Jam go into the break with a 52-49 lead.

Third quarter was the difference in the game as Bakersfield outscored Reno 32-22 and went into the final frame with an 81-74 advantage. In the fourth, the Jam led by as many as 12 points and the closest Reno got was within five early in the period. Bakersfield has now won five straight games and currently holds a 7-2 record for the month of March.

Overall, the Jam held the edge in field goal percentage (54.3-46.3), rebounds (38-35), points in the paint (64-28), second chance points (14-9) and fast break points (17-8).

Terrel Harris scored 17 points and Dennis Horner added 16 points. Jerel McNeal posted 15 points and seven assists while Derrick Byars finished with 13 points. Jeremy Wise also had 13 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists off the bench.

Reno was led by Tyrell Biggs (19 points, 7 rebounds) and DeQuan Jones (18 points). Trent Lockett and Sundiata Gaines each tallied 17 points. Next up, Bakersfield visits the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Monday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. PDT.
