Sioux Falls Stampede News Release

Sioux Falls Stampede forward Jake Hansen has been named to the Minneapolis Star Tribune All-Metro First Team. Hansen posted 71 points (28g, 43a) in 28 games this season with White Bear Lake High School. "Put the puck on his stick and it is sorta like magic," Bears coach Tim Sager said.

Hansen, the brother of Stampede defenseman, Zach, practiced with the Stampede for the first time today and will join the team this weekend when they travel to Cedar Rapids. Hansen has already committed to the University of Minnesota for the 2008-09 season and was ranked in the third round (80th overall) in the NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings.

The Stampede announced yesterday that Hansen, Jordy Christian and Jeff Foss will all suit up for the team this weekend. Christian, a St. Cloud State recruit, was ranked in the fifth round (115th overall) by NHL Central Scouting while Foss was ranked in the sixth round (151st overall).

The NHL Central Scouting Service provides scouting and evaluation of draft-eligible players to NHL member clubs for the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The Stampede travel to Cedar Rapids this weekend before returning home to the Sioux Falls Arena on Tuesday, March 13th to face the Lincoln Stars at 7:05 PM.
