JACKSONVILLE- The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that quarterback Liam Nadler, defensive lineman Brandon Davis and offensive lineman/fullback Charles Granger have been signed to the Jacksonville Sharks roster for the upcoming 2017 season.
Liam Nadler (6'6", 232) will enter his first season in arena football with the Jacksonville Sharks. Prior to joining the Sharks, Nadler was a highly considered NFL prospect at quarterback, entering the 2016 season as an unsigned free agent. NFL.com scouting reports listed him as "a highly intelligent QB and is the desired size of an NFL pocket passer." The 6'6, 232 pounder was on the radar for multiple NFL teams before accepting an invitation to the New York Jets rookie mini-camp where he auditioned for the quarterback position under head coach Todd Bowles. Before signing with the Sharks, he was also invited to work out with the New England Patriots in the midst of Tom Brady's four-game suspension at the beginning 2016 season.
Nadler spent his collegiate career at Gannon University, a Division II school in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he became the Golden Knights all-time leader in 300-yard passing games (12), pass attempts (1,123), pass completions (665), passing yards (8,519), 200-yard passing games (22), and passing touchdowns (58). During his college career, he was Gannon's starting quarterback and a team captain for three consecutive seasons, earning USA College Football Preseason All-America second team and was selected for the Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team as a senior in 2015.
In 2014, the Golden Knights star quarterback he threw 199 receptions including 21 touchdowns for 2,750 yards. He started in every game and was selected to the All-PSAC Western Division second team. He earned a pair of All-America Accolades, earning a spot on the Don Hansen Football Gazette third team and the Beyond Sports Network honorable mention squad. Nadler led the PSAC in total offense per game.
During his first two years at Ganon, he started every game for the Golden Knights, breaking the record pass attempts (428), pass completions (242), passing yards (2,910), passing touchdowns (21) and 200-yard passing games (8).
Nadler is a native of Leipsic, Ohio, where he attended Leipsic Local High School. He was named First Team All-Conference and All-District helping his team qualify for the state playoffs during his final two years.
Brandon Davis (6'4",315) will enter his rookie season in arena football with the Jacksonville Sharks. Davis attended Florida A&M University in 2012 as a senior and made 19 tackles, three sacks and one fumble recovery in 10 regular season games. Davis is a native to Jacksonville, FL and attended Robert E. Lee High School.
Charles Granger (6'0", 296) will enter his second season in arena football after spending the 2016 season as an offensive lineman for the Cedar Rapids Titans of the IFL. Granger played for Sharks head coach Mark Stoute who coached his last season with Cedar Rapids in 2016. During Granger's time with Cedar Rapids he played in six games helping the team to an appearance in the United Conference Championship. Prior to his pro career, Granger attended Langston University, a NAIA school in Langston, Oklahoma. The Lions offensive lineman earned All-CSFL honorable mention team in 2014.
Granger is a native of Langston, Oklahoma.
