Jacks Team Up with Ronald McDonald House

(Odessa, TX) - The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest will be partnering with the Jackalopes hockey team for some upcoming events in March. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest's Permian Basin region has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years.
The first event took place on March 3rd at the McDonald's on 42nd Street in Odessa. The Jackalopes hockey team members met and greeted fans while auctioning off Jackalopes hockey gear. Jacks players also worked behind the counter and at the drive through window serving customers. The Care Mobile was also be on-site to deliver medical services to uninsured children.
Additionally, half of the price of the Jackalopes ticket sales for the game on Friday, March 6th against Laredo will be donated to the charity. Students of ECISD and their families will be able to purchase tickets for $10.00 through Thursday, March 5th. Interested fans can either pick up a flyer from their school, from local businesses, or the Midland Ronald McDonald House office. All proceeds will go to fund the Care Mobile. The game will feature a family (served by Ronald McDonald House) that will be dropping the puck to start the game. The Ronald McDonald House will also have a table set up where individuals can get information about the charity, donate, or sign-up to volunteer.
The Permian Basin region is blessed to have access to the 31st of 33 Care Mobiles in the country! This medical clinic on wheels travels through the Permian Basin administering check-ups, exams, immunizations, and even pharmaceuticals to uninsured children through age 18. The mobile is staffed with a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse, and Registration/Billing Specialist. A pediatrician is also available by appointment for consultations. To date, the Care Mobile has seen over 4,000 patients.
The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is currently in its 12th season. Season tickets, mini-plans, and single game tickets are available by calling (432) 552-PUCK or visiting jackalopes.org.
