
'Jackets Rained Out

Augusta, GA - The GreenJackets and Greensboro Grasshoppers had their game rained out on Saturday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The two teams waited out a rain delay close to two hours before the game was finally called at 9:00 p.m.
Rain fell all day at Lake Olmstead Stadium with a slight break coming at 5:00 p.m. for approximately an hour. Rain started to fall again at 6:30 p.m. and stopped shortly after 8:00 p.m. Once the tarp was removed from the field it was determined the field was unplayable.
The GreenJackets and Grasshoppers will finish their series on Sunday afternoon with a double-header scheduled. Augusta will send the Giants top pick in the 2007 draft to the mound, lefty Madison Bumgarner in game one. The Grasshoppers will counter with right-hander Jeremiah Haar. First pitch for Game 1 is at 1:05 p.m.
The second game of the double-header will follow approximately a half hour after the end of the first game. The GreenJackets will send right-hander T.J. Brewer to the hill. Right-hander Stuart Alexander will start for Greensboro.
