Jackals Welcome Back MVP Goaltender

The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have received goaltender Michael Teslak, the Jackals Most Valuable Player in 2008-2009, from the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL) on a loan basis and have released goaltender Brien Bennett. Furthermore, goaltender David Brown has returned home to Canada after being diagnosed with mononucleosis.

Teslak played in 33 games for the Jackals last season, posting a 17-10-1-3 record for the Jackals, with a .904 save percentage and a 2.87 goals against average. The former Michigan Tech (NCAA) standout backstopped the Jackals in their record-setting 5-4 four-overtime win over the Trenton Devils in game one of the American Conference quarterfinals. He started 10 of the Jackals 11 playoff games, posting a 4-6 record with a .919 save percentage and a 2.59 goals against average while recording one shutout.

Bennett was the last player remaining on the Jackals roster that participated in the Jackals Pro Placement Camp in early September.
