
Jackals Take First Game of Doubleheader, 4-3

Little Falls, NJ - The New Jersey Jackals extended their winning streak to nine games by winning the first game of a twinbill versus the Elmira Pioneers, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at Yogi Berra Stadium.
Jackals' all star outfielder Travis Bailey drove in the game winning run with a two-out RBI double in the third inning and then helped preserve New Jersey's 4-3 lead in the top of the 6th inning by throwing out Pedro Quero at the plate from right field following a single by Norm Hutchins.
New Jersey took an early 3-0 lead in the second inning with the help of back to back RBI singles by Jack Lipari and Craig Conway and an RBI SAC FLY off the bat of Mikaela Dworken.
Elmira came back to tie the game at three in the 3rd inning. Jeremy Brostrom had a SAC FLY and Brandon Pernell hit an RBI in the inning.
Steve Fish (7-3) earned the victory, pitching 5.1 innings while allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits. He struck out three and walked one. Ryan Halla pitched a perfect 9th for his 7th save.
