
Jackals Swept by Miners

After losing the first two games of the series against the Sussex County Miners, the New Jersey Jackals were looking to salvage the final game of the series on the Fourth of July.
The Miners swept New Jersey, however, defeating the in-state rival by a score of 4-1.
Sussex County did all of its scoring in one inning.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Miners plated four runs.
Catcher Christian Correa hit into a fielder's choice that scored third baseman Martin Figueroa.
Right fielder Breeland Almadova hit an RBI single to score second baseman Rubi Silva to up the tally to 2-0, Miners.
Then, center fielder Jayce Ray hit an RBI double to score Almadova.
Not to be out done, short stop Jared Mederos drove in Ray with an RBI single to cap-off the extended inning for Sussex County.
David Harris drove in his 36th run of the year with a run scoring single to score first baseman Dean Green in the top of the sixth.
New Jersey would only come away with one run, extending its losing streak to a season long five games.
The Jackals return back to Yogi Berra Stadium on July 5 to take on the Ottawa Champions.
The teams will resume a suspended game from May 31 at 4:30 followed by a standard scheduled game at 7:05 P.M.
