
Jackals sweep Pioneers, win streak at nine

Little Falls, NJ - Zach Smithlin, Ricardo Cordova and John Lindsey led yet another Jackals hit barrage as they completed a sweep of the Elmira Pioneers with a 9-2 win a Yogi Berra Stadium.
The Jackals tallied their ninth consecutive victory behind 11 hits and another strong pitching performance from Joel Bennett. Bennett, who improved to 2-0 on the season, went seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and fanning seven.
At the plate it was Smithlin leading the way, going 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored and a season-high 4 RBI. Cordova was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, and Lindsey chipped in with two hits of his own.
