IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals and the Cincinnati Cyclones meet for the final time in 2011-2012 at U.S. Bank Arena, with the puck dropping at 7:35 p.m. With a win tonight, Elmira (60 points) would jump past Wheeling (61 points) for first place in the Atlantic Division. The Jackals defeated the Nailers on Tuesday night at First Arena in overtime, 3-2, on Dustin Gazley's second tally of the game. The Cyclones dropped their last contest in Toledo on Sunday to the Walleye in sudden death, 3-2.
ELMIRA MAKES ANNUAL QUEEN CITY VISIT
For the third-straight year, Elmira plays only one game in Cincinnati. The Jackals have an all-time record of 5-5-0-2 at U.S. Bank Arena in the regular season. This is their first game in the Queen City since Nov. 2, 2010, a contest won by Elmira, 4-2. The Cyclones take an Eastern Conference-best record of 17-4-0-2 on home ice this season.
POWERED UP
For the first time this season, Elmira notched multiple power-play goals in consecutive contests, adding two more on Tuesday night after scoring twice on the advantage on Sunday. The Jackals check in the third in the league on the power play at 21.7%. Elmira has had the fewest opportunities on the man advantage in the league with 194 through 49 games.
