New Jersey Jackals News Release
On Star Wars night at Yogi Berra Stadium the Jackals lost 9-2 to the Shikoku Island All-Stars. The Jackals bats could not get it going early, failing to capitalize with runners in scoring position.
Shikoku opened the game scoring one run in the top of the first inning on a double and RBI single from Miyoshi Issei.
The All-Stars added three more in the fourth inning on some shaky defense from New Jersey.
New Jersey scored one in the fourth and fifth inning but could not add anymore with runners in scoring position.
Shikoku used a big eighth inning to make the score 8-2. New Jersey pitching could not find the strike zone in the eighth helping Shikoku in the inning.
The teams will conclude a three game set tomorrow at 2 P.M. at Yogi Berra Stadium.
