Elmira Jackals News Release
Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have built a Coca-Cola house at the Arnot Mall in Horseheads, New York.
The Elmira Jackals/First Arena staff was up before the sun this morning as they constructed a house using cases of Coca-Cola, Diet-Coke and Sprite. Made up of more than 1,000 cases (Twenty-Four 12-oz. cans each), the house was erected at Center Court in the Arnot Mall. So who are the Mall's newest residents? Jackals Head Coach Kris Waltze and Jackals Public Address Announcer Mike Strobel will be living in the Coca-Cola House for the next three days, beginning at 10 am on Thursday until the Mall closes at 9:30 pm on Saturday.
The Jackals built the Coca-Cola house as a special promotion to generate more enthusiasm for the October home games. Over the next three days the team is running a special ticket package: for every two tickets purchased to a Jackals October home game, you get a free case of Coca-Cola. The only way Coach Waltze and Mike can leave the house early is if Jackals fans buy up enough tickets to completely disassemble every last case of Coca-Cola the house.
"This is a great opportunity for Jackals fans to come meet our new Head Coach Kris Waltze," said General Manager Robbie S. Nichols. "Also, come say hi to our PA announcer Mike Strobel and some of the new Jackals players who will be stopping by. We are excited to offer this special deal with Coca-Cola for our October home games and I hope to see everyone out at the Arnot mall and at the First Arena in two weeks!"
The Arnot Mall is open from 10:00 am to 9:30 pm daily and Sundays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Coca-Cola house is located at Center Court, directly in front of the escalators to the upper level food court and movie theater.
The Elmira Jackals are gearing up for their seventh season of operations in the United Hockey League and the Twin Tiers. The Jackals' Home Opener kicks off the year as Elmira hosts the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday October 13th at 7:35 pm. Season tickets for the 2006-2007 UHL season are still available as well as individual game tickets and 10 & 20-game packages at the First Arena Box Office. For more information call 607-734-PUCK.
