Jackalopes Are Postseason Bound

(Odessa, TX) - With Rio Grande Valley's loss to the Laredo Bucks on Thursday, the Odessa Jackalopes are heading the Central Hockey League's Ray Miron President's Cup Playoffs.

Rio Grande Valley fell in regulation to Laredo by a 6-5 final. With the loss, the Jackalopes can finish no worse than fifth in the Southern Conference at the end of the regular season. The top five teams from each conference qualify for the playoffs. Odessa is currently in first place in the South, six points ahead of the Allen Americans entering play tonight.

The Jackalopes become the first team to lock up a playoff spot this season. Odessa is currently 37-9-4 with 14 games left to play.

The Jackalopes wrap up a five-game road trip against the Amarillo Gorillas on Friday, then the Texas Brahmas on Saturday. Both games begin at 7:05 PM Central time. The action can be heard on 102.1 Jack FM.
