HOUSTON, TX: Earlier today the Seattle Mariners announced that former AquaSox Jack Larsen has been called up and will make his MLB debut today in Houston. He is starting in right field and hitting ninth.

Signed by Seattle as a non-drafted free agent June 19, 2017, he appeared in 64 games for Everett last season hitting .308 (73-237) with 25 doubles. For his performance last year, Larson received the Edgar Martinez Dominate the Zone Hitter Award after being recognized as the hitter in the Mariners organization that best embodied the Control the Zone philosophy.

Seattle brought Larsen and Jarred Kelenic up from the minors to serve as replacements in the outfield for Julio Rodriguez (wrist) and Dylan Moore (back) after both were placed on the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's series finale. Larsen was hitting .260 with six home runs and six steals in 360 plate appearances at Arkansas.

Prior to his promotion, Larsen was hitting .260 four Double-A Arkansas.

The Frogs will be back at Funko Field on Tuesday, August 2nd against the Hillsboro Hops for Kids Day with a special 11:05am PDT first pitch.
