Middleton, WI - Madison Capitols forward, Jack Horbach, committed to play collegiate hockey for the University of Wisconsin - Madison on Wednesday. Horbach becomes the first Capitol to commit this season, joining nine of his teammates with a commitment.

"I've always dreamed about going to the University of Wisconsin since I was a little kid," says Horbach. "It was kind of like a dream come true for me when I got the offer."

The '02 birth year hails from Naperville, Illinois where he spent the last four seasons playing for the Chicago Mission. Last year, Horbach put up 9 points (5g, 4a) in 16 league games for the Mission U16. He also got a glimpse of life in the USHL, coming up as an affiliate to play in four games.

"Jack is a player who has really stepped up this season," says head coach Garrett Suter. "We got to see a glimpse of him last season, but he has been able to step into any role we ask and perform well."

This season, Horbach is playing in a role he's a bit unfamiliar with, accumulating 0 points in 11 games thus far, but not without his fair share of chances.

"It feels great and definitely takes some pressure off, but I still have a long way to go to get where I need to be. I still have to work hard to get there."

Horbach and the Capitols return to action this Friday, November 8thfor their 6thannual Military Appreciation Night beginning at 7:05pm against the Chicago Steel.

If you can't make it out to the game, make sure to tune into Mixlr and HockeyTV to get the live call from broadcaster, Cody Lefkowitz.

Individual single game tickets for the 2019-20 season are available now! Call the Capitols Front Office at 608-257-CAPS (2277) or email at info@madcapshockey.com.
