Jack Gurr's Left-Footed Goal Voted Week 27 Goal of the Week

Earlier today, the USL Championship announced that Jack Gurr's 56th minute score against Loudoun United FC on September 10 has been voted for Fan's Choice Goal of the Week for Week 27.

The defender's score was his first since joining Republic FC ahead of the 2022 season. Just before the hour mark, Gurr pushed forward and received the ball from Emil Cuello on the right flank, before winding up and sending a powerful left-footed shot just inside the post. The goal doubled his club's advantage after Deshorn Brown had broken the 0-0 tie just after halftime.

This is the Gurr's first career win of the weekly vote, and marks the third win of the honor for Republic FC this season. Damia Viader won the Week 14 vote after scoring against Detroit City FC, and Luis Felipe's last second-score against Oakland Roots SC July 9 was named the Week 18 Goal of the Week.

Gurr and Republic FC are back in action this Sunday from Heart Health Park as the club takes on Orange County SC on Youth Soccer Day in front of a national audience. The match is set to kick off at 2:00 p.m., and will be broadcast on ESPN2. Tickets are still available at SacRepublicFC.com/single-match-tickets.
