OHL Ottawa 67's

It's 67's vs IceDogs on Friday Night

January 20, 2022 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

After a road stop in Peterborough, the Ottawa 67's are back at home inside The Arena at TD Place. Visiting the Barber Poles for the first of three times this season are the Niagara IceDogs. Puck drop is set for 7:00pm ET, and Barber Poles fans can watch live on Rogers TV. Kenny Walls has the call on TSN Radio 1200.

It's been a good stretch for the 67's, who have enjoyed a winning start to 2022. The contributions have come from up and down the roster; goaltenders Will Cranley and Max Donoso have both backstopped the Barber Poles to victory, the likes of Brady Stonehouse and Vsevolod Gaidamak have provided the offence, with the steady 200ft play of Cam Tolnai and Vinzenz Rohrer, as well as the contributions of youngsters like Luca Pinelli, and veterans such as Jack Matier making for a cohesive winning effort.

The IceDogs, meanwhile, are seeing their first action since January 11. Danil Gushchin and Juan Copeland each found the back of the net, but the Hamilton Bulldogs poured on the offence, registering 29 shots on goal, en route to a 6-2 victory.

Among Niagara's ranks is forward Brenden Sirizzotti, who is making his return to the nation's capital, after being traded by Ottawa to the IceDogs on January 3. Sirizzotti was drafted by the 67's in 2019, scoring eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points in 39 career games, from 2020 to 2021.

These two teams have only faced off on one occasion, this season, on Thursday, December 2, 2021. It's a result that the 67's will be eager to get back, with Rohrer tallying the only goal in a 6-1 defeat.

One thing is for certain: it will be a highly competitive evening of hockey at Lansdowne.
