Boston Lobsters News Release

Valentine's Day doesn't bring chocolate or roses to the Boston Lobsters but it bings back.... John Isner, who will return for his third consecutive season with the Boston Lobsters!

John Isner who only last week beat Roger Federer in a four set upset in the opening round at the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas in Switzerland will be retuning to play for the Boston Lobsters again this July. This was John's third time as part of the US Davis Cup team that just won a clean sweep over the favored Swiss team. A quote Jim Courier, the United States Captain of the Davis Cup team in regards to Isner: "I learned that John can beat anyone at any time," said Jim Courier, of this Davis Cup weekend. "Because no one has a chance if he plays the way that he plays and serves the way that he serves unless they play incredible tennis, incredible defensive tennis."

In addition, John is a wonderful team player and enjoys playing for the Boston Lobsters and WTT's team format that is reminicent of his days playing on a college team. John has played in the WTT league since 2010 and exclusively for the Boston Lobsters team.

John led his team at the University of Georgia to the NCAA championship in 2007 and still holds the schools record for singles and doubles. Upon graduating from Georgia in 2007 he turned pro and has brought American tennis to new heights ever since.

John rose to fame followed after an 11 hour and 5 min. epic match that spanned three days at Wimbledon in 2010. Since then, John Isner has been a man in demand and his publicity tour beyound the tennis court has included appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman, Good Morning America, CNN, Fox & Friends; and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Yankees Stadium.

John Isner is now #14 in the world (a new career high) and the #2 player in the United States!

Last summer, Isner made back-to-back appearances at Ferncroft Country Club's Joan Norton Stadium in Middleton to help the Lobsters earn wins over the Philadelphia Freedoms and Springfield Lasers. His .556 winning percentage in men's singles was good for fifth-best overall among marquee players.

The Boston Lobsters are very proud to be featuring John's incredible tennis talent on their court again this July.
