DAYTONA BEACH, FL - The Florida State League named Ismael Guillon the Pitcher of the Week for August 8-14 on Monday afternoon. Guillon made two appearances during the week, tossing seven shutout innings while allowing just two hits and striking out 11.

Long becomes the sixth Tortuga to win a weekly award this season and third consecutive. Reydel Medina and Shed Long were named the FSL Player of the Week for each of the past two weeks. Guillon becomes the second Tortuga pitcher, following Tyler Mahle in June. It's the first time Daytona has won the award in three consecutive weeks.

Guillon has been light's out since July 14th. Over that time he has gone 3-0 with a 0.34 ERA, having allowed one earned run in 26 innings pitched. He has struck out 44 batters while allowing just eight hits during that stretch and has held opponents to a .100 batting average. The southpaw ranks second in the league in ERA during that time frame, only trailing Tampa's Josh Rogers (0.33).

Dunedin's Ryan McBroom won the FSL Player of the Week award.

The Tortugas begin a crucial three game series with McBroom and the first place Blue Jays Tuesday night at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM, with coverage beginning at 6:20 PM on AM 1230 and AM 1490 WSBB. Word.Document.8
