Isles' Road Trip Wraps up in Saint John
November 12, 2023 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Charlottetown Islanders News Release
The Islanders' road trip wraps up in Saint John as they take on the Sea Dogs for the second time this season.
Charlottetown is riding a two game winning streak after defeating Val-d'or and storming back against the Wildcats. The Sea Dogs are on a three game losing streak though after dropping their last game to the Mooseheads.
Carter Bickle will get his tenth start of the season. Bickle came in to relieve Ozols in Moncton and stopped all 14 shots faced. He is 4-4 with a 3.47 GAA and an .872 SV%.
Alexis Jacques has been recalled from the MHL's Edmundston Blizzard. The blueliner has two goals and three points in nine games with the Islanders this season.
Owen Conrad returns to the lineup this afternoon as well. He missed the rest of this road trip as he was representing the nation at the World U-17 World Challenge.
Key to victory
Charlottetown's power play is one of the best in the league while the Sea Dogs' penalty kill is sitting at just 74.7 per cent. If the Isles can draw penalties and get themselves on a man-advantage, the goals will come.
Players to watch
CHA - Owen Conrad is returning to the lineup for the first time since before the road trip. He has nine points in nine games so far and shouldn't miss a beat fitting back into the lineup, solidifying the defensive end for Charlottetown.
Matthew Butler has just one goal so far this season to go along with his nine assists despite his skill with the puck. It's only a matter of time before he starts to put the puck in the back of the net.
SNB - Veteran Noah Reinhart has had success against the Isles this season. He will want to keep that going in an effort to snap Saint John's three game skid.
Joseph Ianniello has just two goals this season, and has gone pointless in his last two games while being only a -1 on their losing streak. Watch out for Ianniello as he'll be hungry for a goal.
Puck drop at TD Station is at 3:00 p.m. Fans can tune in at MAX 93.1FM.
