Isles Return Home with Matchup against Cape Breton

The Isles return home tonight to take on the Cape Breton Eagles in their first matchup of the season.

Charlottetown is coming off of a 5-2 loss this weekend in Saint John, finishing their road-trip with a 2-3 record.

This will be the third straight day with a new destination for the Eagles, as they played in Halifax on Sunday and in Saint John yesterday.

They are coming off of a 6-1 win against the Sea Dogs, scoring five goals in the third period.

Aksels Ozols will get his eleventh start of the season as he hopes to bounce back from allowing five goals against the Wildcats.

In eleven appearances so far, Ozols is posting a 3.77 GAA and an .877 SV% with a record of 5-5.

The final lineup will be a gametime decision. Jarrett Todd is nearing a return and expect Ross Campbell to slot back in the lineup.

Key to victory

Once again, getting off to a hot start is key for the Isles. Since the Eagles are playing their third game in just as many days, it's important to put them back on their heels early, taking their energy away.

It's also important to get solid goaltending. Ozols is more motivated than ever to perform well tonight after his performance against Moncton.

Players to watch

CHA - It has been over a month since Brett Arsenault has seen the scoresheet and he's hungry for more. With just two goals on the season and no assists, the P.E.I. native is due for an offensive spark.

The line of Cole Huckins, Kyle Powers and Simon Hughes has arguably been the Isles' best offensive line in the last few games. Huckins has been red hot as of late while Powers has nine assists in his rookie campaign. Simon Hughes also picked up his first point of the season last game in Saint John. Look for that line to stay hot for Charlottetown.

CAP - Island native Cam Squires makes his return to P.E.I. for the first time this season. Squires has eight goals, seven assists for 15 points in 19 games so far this year. He's also starting to come out of a dry spell, scoring last night in Saint John. He's going to want to perform in front of friends and family.

In his first season with the club, Cole Burbidge has impressed by leading the team in scoring with 18 points through 21 games. Last year as a rookie with the Sea Dogs, Burbidge scored 50 points in 68 games. So far, he is on pace to set a new career-high.
