
Islanders Acquire Lapenna from Voltigeurs

Charlottetown Islanders News Release
The Charlottetown Islanders have acquired goaltender Francesco Lapenna and a pair of draft picks from the Drummondville Voltigeurs. It was announced on Sunday morning by General Manager Jim Hulton.
In return, the Islanders have sent Jacob Goobie, Sam Oliver and a pair of 2024 draft picks to the Voltigeurs.
"We are very excited to add Francesco to our team. He is an elite veteran goalie with a proven track record" commented Hulton. "We would also like to thank Sam and Jake for their contributions to the Islanders. We wish them much success in the future."
19-year-old Lapenna is a Laval, QC native and was selected in the 4th round, 57th overall by Val-d'Or in 2018. In 2021 he was invited to attend the Toronto Maple Leafs rookie camp. So far this season he has played in 21 games and boasts a .906 save percentage.
