Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

(Allentown, Pa.) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have announced the schedule of events at Coca-Cola Park for their sold-out exhibition game the Philadelphia Phillies on March 30. The schedule is highlighted by all gates opening at 11:30 a.m. - two-and-one-half hours prior to first-pitch - so that fans can watch both the IronPigs and Phillies take batting practice.

Game time is set for 2:05 p.m. - marking the first time a Major League team has played in the Lehigh Valley in 59 years. The opening of Coca-Cola Park will also mean the return of affiliated baseball in the Lehigh Valley for the first time in 47 years.

Although most of the traditional ceremonies and pageantry of opening a new facility and season will remain reserved for Opening Day (April 11), the exhibition game will be preceded by comments from Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell, Lehigh County Executive Don Cunningham and others local dignitaries beginning at 1:28 p.m.

After formal player introduction for both the Phillies and IronPigs, the National Anthem will be performed by The Bach Choir of Bethlehem, Pa., while the colors will be presented by the Allentown Fire Department.

In terms of entering the complex, there are three entry points for parking. General Admission parking access is available off American Parkway, Union Boulevard and Dauphin Street. Preferred Parking access is available off of American Parkway only.

Fans are reminded that the large lower lot behind the LSI Corporation building on Union Boulevard is also part of the IronPigs parking system. A complete diagram of the parking areas is available at http://www.ironpigsbaseball.com/cocacola/stadiuminfo.

The IronPigs inaugural season, presented by Capital BlueCross, officially gets underway on April 3 at PNC Field in Moosic, Pa., against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. The IronPigs return home for Opening Day on April 11 at 7:05 p.m. against the reigning International League Champion Richmond Braves - another sold-out game at Coca-Cola Park.

A listing of special events for April 11 - which will feature a variety of elements from ribbon-cutting to both traditional and nontraditional Opening Day festivities - will be released by the IronPigs next week.
