Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

After a rain out last night, the sixth-place IronPigs (18-31) will play a doubleheader tonight at Fifth-Third Field against the second-place Toledo Mud Hens (28-22) -- Detroit's top affiliate. With a 4-3 loss in 11 innings Sunday, the 'Pigs were swept in four games in Columbus for a season-long four-game losing streak. In addition, Lehigh Valley has gone just 7-17 in its last 24 affairs... Toledo just went 4-4 on a North Division road trip -- winning their last two games against the Bisons to split in both Syracuse and Buffalo. Prior to the trip, they had won six consecutive games to improve from 18-18 on May 14 to 28-22 where the Hens are today.

In Game One, RHP Drew Carpenter (5-4, 3.62) will start for LHV against RHP Ruddy Lugo (1-2, 7.11).

In Game Two, LHP Brian Mazone (3-5, 4.08) will start for LHV against RHP L.J. Gagnier (1-2, 2.76).

First-Pitch of Game One is 5:30 p.m..

DOUBLE-DUTY:

This will be the first doubleheader of 2010 for LHV, which went 4-8 in DH games last year (swept 1; split in 2; got swept in 3)... In 2008, the Pigs were 3-3 in DH games (1/1/1)... It will also be the first DH for Toledo this season...

- With a 10:30 a.m. game tomorrow, LHV and TOL will play 3 games in (most likely/hopefully) less than 24 hours!

Hey June!: June is the only month the Pigs have been above .500 in both seasons (18-11 in '09; 15-14 in '08)
