Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The fourth-place IronPigs (9-11) play the finale of a four-game series -- and eight-day road trip -- at Frontier Field against the fifth-place Rochester Red Wings (8-13), the Twins' top affiliate. With a 5-3 win last night, the 'Pigs improved to 3-3 on this (now) seven-game, Northern Division road trip... Meanwhile, the 'Wings have still dropped six of their last eight contests and are just 4-8 in their last 12 games...
LHP Brian Mazone (2-1, 3.68) will start for LHV against LHP Ryan Mullins (1-0, 6.75).
First-pitch tonight is at 7:05 p.m... Following the game, LHV returns home for an eight-game, nine-day homestand starting vs. IND tomorrow at 6:35 pm.
WITH A WIN TONIGHT...:
* The 'Pigs will have their first win of a four-game series in 2010 and their first win in a road four-game series since taking 3-of-4 at Pawtucket from 8/22/09-8/25/09.
* Win back-to-back games for just the 2nd time in '10 (4/15-4/17...which was actually separated by a suspended game).
* Improve to 10-11 -- which keep them tied for their best start in franchise history through 21 G (10-11 in 2009).
* Have a chance tomorrow to get back to .500 (11-11?) for just the third time in franchise history.
