Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

(Allentown, Pa.) -- The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have announced that the main gates at Coca-Cola Park will open at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 10 - a full three hours before hosting the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees - to allow fans to take part in the World Series Trophy Tour, presented by Teva Pharmaceuticals and Comcast SportsNet. This early admittance will be limited to certain restricted areas in the AT&T Plaza and the newly expanded Bud Light Trough - also offering those inside the ballpark a special opportunity to view batting practice.

Fans will have access to the remainder of Coca-Cola Park, including the seating bowl and the Club Level, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Due to the anticipated demand for pictures with the trophy - coupled with the fact April 10 marks the second game of the season and the first fireworks show of 2009 -- fans are encouraged to take advantage of this special 4 p.m. ballpark opening. The photo opportunity commences once the gates open through the middle of the seventh inning. The Friday Night Fireworks, which take place following the game, are presented by Partnership for a Tobacco Free Northeast PA.

All World Series Trophy Tour photos will be taken by IronPigs team photographers (Mitman Photography) and made available for a free download at the new MyCapture photo portal on www.ironpigsbaseball.com starting April 11.

Added IronPigs' General Manager Kurt Landes in an earlier statement in regards to this special opportunity: "The Commissioner's Trophy is one of the most recognizable symbols in all of sports, so we are very thankful that the Phillies have decided to include Coca-Cola Park on their World Series Trophy Tour. We have a large portion of Phillies loyalists, so we are excited to offer them a first-hand look at the trophy. And, since we're playing the 'evil team from the North that resides in Moosic, PA,' it's our privilege to show Yankees fans what a World Series Trophy looks like... it's been awhile for them!"

The World Series trophy was created by Major League Baseball in 1967 and each year, one full-sized trophy is created and awarded to the World Series champion. The trophy is fashioned by Tiffany & Co., made of sterling silver and weighs roughly 30 pounds. It features 30 flags, one representing each Major League team.

The World Series trophy stop at Coca-Cola Park coincides with a spectacular Friday Night Fireworks show that will take place immediately following the IronPigs-Yankees game. Fireworks will remain a fixture of IronPigs baseball at Coca-Cola Park in 2009 with 18 extravagant shows planned.

Limited Field Level and General Admission tickets still remain for Friday, April 10, and can be purchased in advance at the Coca-Cola Park ticket office, by calling (610) 841-PIGS or online at www.ironpigsbaseball.com. Prices for single-game tickets remain identical to 2008 and start as low as $6 for General Admission, granting fans access to the Capital BlueCross Lawn seating area and standing room only areas. Field Level reserved seats are just $9.

Fans are reminded that there are three entry points for parking. Those traveling from downtown Allentown are encouraged to use the Dauphin Street entrance. Coca-Cola Park lots can also be accessed off American Parkway and Union Boulevard. Preferred/Handicapped Parking access is available via American Parkway only.

The Coca-Cola Park lots will open promptly at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10. The cost of parking for all IronPigs home games is $3 per vehicle.

Single-game tickets, season tickets, mini-plans and group tickets for the 2009 season presented by Capital BlueCross are on sale now and can be purchased at ironpigsbaseball.com, by calling (610) 841-PIGS or by visiting the Coca-Cola Park ticket office.
