Aberdeen, MD - The Aberdeen IronBirds open up their 2011 season this Friday, June 17th, at Ripken Stadium against the Hudson Valley Renegades (Class-A Short-Season affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays). First pitch is scheduled for 7:35 PM.

Right-hander Parker Bridwell will get the start for the IronBirds. A ninth round pick in the 2010 draft, Bridwell is ranked by Baseball America as the 12th-best prospect in the Baltimore Orioles system. He made two appearances for Aberdeen in 2010, tossing four scoreless innings. This season, Bridwell made one start for the Delmarva Shorebirds (Class-A affiliate of the O's) before joining the IronBirds.

Rising country star Brett Eldredge, from WAR Records, will be singing the National Anthem. Brett will also perform outside the main gates as fans enter the stadium and will sing God Bless America during the seventh inning stretch. Brett is currently on the H20 II Tour with country star Brad Paisley.

Before the first pitch is thrown, the LTRC Tap/Jazz Dance Program and Growing Roses Early Learning Center will also perform. Bel Air Baseball will parade around the field and escort the players to their positions. Harford County Young Marines will present the colors.

Gates will open at 6:00 PM. For opening night ticket information, contact our box office at (410) 297-9292 or visit our website at www.IronBridsbaseball.com.
