IronBirds Snap Five-game Skid

(ABERDEEN, MD) - The IronBirds snapped a five-game losing skid with 10-1 victory over Oneonta on Friday evening at Ripken Stadium.

Aberdeen (5-9) used their 10-to-4 hit advantage to win the final game of the three-game series. Oneonta fell to 7-5 with the loss.

The bottom-half of the order combined for a 5-for-8 evening with six runs scored, six RBI, and four walks. 'Birds ace Kenny Moreland improved to 3-0 with six scoreless innings, giving up two hits with five strikeouts and one walk. The Springfield, VA native has allowed only one earned run in 18 innings pitched with Aberdeen.

Aberdeen took a 3-0 lead through the first three innings, before adding six runs in the sixth and seventh inning.

Richard D'Oleo extended his hit streak to seven games after hitting 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and 3 RBI. Right fielder Arthur Bonevacia upped his batting average to .333 with a 2-for-2 evening, three RBI and a pair of walks. Lance West recorded his second home run of the season with a three-run shot in the bottom of the seventh to make it a 9-0 contest. Blake Davis also recorded his fifth multi-hit game of the season.

Catcher Justin Dalles' earned his first professional hit with an RBI single in the eighth.

Stephen Procner picked up his first save of the season, giving up one run on two hits in three innings pitched.

The IronBirds begin a seven-game road trip on Saturday at Oneonta. Aberdeen lefty Nick Haughian (0-1, 1.00 ERA) will square off against Oneonta right-hander Nate Newman (0-1, 1.50 ERA). First pitch will be at 7:00 p.m.
