VERSUS LOWELL:

Aberdeen lost two of three back on 7/14-7/16 at Lowell.

VERSUS BROOKLYN:

The ‘Birds were swept for a second consecutive series at home, but the big story of the two game set with Brooklyn was RHP Brandon Moore's seven inning no-hitter in game one. Brooklyn won 5-0 and 5-1.

‘BIRDS ELIMINATED IN DIVISION:

With only three games left in the home stand, the best the ‘Birds can go is 3-5. With their five game losing streak, and sweep at the hands of division leading Brooklyn, Aberdeen has officially been eliminated from the McNamara Division.

HAUGHIAN, ‘BIRDS NO-HIT, PROCNER MAKES START:

LHP NicK Haughian took his third loss of the season. He threw well, giving up six hits, four runs (three earned), walked two and struck out three in 6.1 IP. LHP Stephen Procner made his 2nd start of the season and showed signs of improvement. Procner threw five innings, allowing one run on six hits, walked one and struck out two, he took a ND.

THE GOLD STANDARD GOES TO DELMARVA:

Levi Carolus was leading the team in six offensive categories: average, hits, RBI, doubles, slugging and stolen bases. Carolus was rewarded for his strong play by being promoted to Delmarva after the NYPL All-Star game on Aug. 19th. Carolus has played in two games for Delmarva, going 1-7, with a double, and 2 K's.

‘BIRDS AMPING UP THE POWER

Garabez Rosa hit his team leading fifth homerun of the season on August 16th, his second of the series against Jamestown. On August 21st Tyler Townsend, after going hitless for two games, drove a home run over the right field wall for his second of the season and the ‘Birds third in six games.
