Iro & Marosevic Part Ways with Toronto FC

Toronto FC announced Friday that defender Andy Iro and forward Peri Marosevic will not be back with the club for the 2012 season.

"Both Andy and Peri declined our contract extension offers and now the club is ready to move on," said Toronto FC Head Coach & Technical Director Aron Winter. "We met with both players at the conclusion of the season and presented them with fair offers that they have declined. I'd like to thank them for their contributions to our club and wish them well in the future endevours."

Iro, 27 was acquired in a trade with Columbus Crew on July 15, 2011. Iro started in all 13 matches he played in after being acquired from the Crew. The central defender also made seven appearances for Toronto in CONCACAF Champions League.

Marosevic, 22, was signed on July 28, 2011 after being waived by FC Dallas. Marosevic made four league starts and appeared in seven matches, scoring two goals. He also appeared in seven CONCACAF Champions League matches, scoring one goal.
