November 2, 2023 - NBA G League (G League)
Iowa Wolves News Release
DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves and WHO 13 Des Moines announced today that WHO will broadcast all of Iowa's home and road games over the air on their digital 13.4 channel starting this 2023-24 NBA G League season.
To watch the games for free, local fans will need a digital antenna to get the over-the-air TV signal of Iowa's Weather Channel 13.4. Today's announcement marks the first time in franchise history local fans can watch every Iowa Wolves game over the air. The longtime broadcast duo of play-by-play announcer John McDermott and analyst Tony Atzeni will continue to call all the action. In addition, the games will be broadcast locally on Channel 115 on Mediacom cable.
"We're thrilled about this partnership and how this will enhance the overall NBA G League and Iowa Wolves fan experience," said Drew Van Meeteren, Iowa Wolves President of Business Operations. "Fans have asked for better local access to watch our team and we're excited to deliver it for them. With 55% of NBA players now boasting NBA G League experience, this will also be an amazing vehicle for more fans to discover the next level talent we have on the court and we look forward to seeing those new fans come howl with us at Wells Fargo Arena this season."
"As we continue to build on our reputation as the local sports leader WHO 13 Des Moines believes this partnership is an important one in the Des Moines area sports community," said Bobby Totsch Vice President General Manager WHO 13 Des Moines. "We're excited to be partners with the Iowa Wolves to help bring their games and content to our viewers."
