Iowa Wolves Finalize Opening Night Roster

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves today announced its 2022-23 opening night roster, which features Minnesota Timberwolves two-way and former University of Iowa standout Luka Garza and a pair of Timberwolves' assignment players, Josh Minott and Wendell Moore Jr. Also on the roster is former Hawkeye standout Jordan Bohannon and Bettendorf native and 2019 Mr. Iowa Basketball D.J. Carton.

In addition, CJ Elleby, PJ Dozier and Emmanuel Mudiay (MOO-dee-ay), are on the roster. Elleby spent last season with the Portland Trail Blazers where he averaged 5.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Dozier spent the last three seasons with the Denver Nuggets where he averaged 6.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Mudiay played in two games for the Sacramento Kings last season. In seven seasons in the NBA with the Nuggets, New York Knicks, Utah Jazz and Kings, Mudiay has tallied 3,299 points, 884 rebounds and 1,143 assists throughout 302 games.

Matt Lewis and Brandon Sampson who each spent all of 2021-22 with Iowa are back this season. Rounding out the opening night roster are Javonte Cooke, Phillip Wheeler and Mamoudou Diarra (MAH-mah-doo) (DEE-are-uh), who was selected 12th overall in the 2022 NBA G League Draft.
