
Iowa Wild Re-Signs Forward Marc Hagel

Des Moines, IA - Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill on Thursday announced the American Hockey League (AHL) club has re-signed forward Marc Hagel (pronounced HAY-gull) to a standard player contract (SPC) for the 2014-15 season.
"Marc brought great work ethic and energy to our team last season and we are happy to have him under contract for upcoming season." said General Manager Jim Mill.
After starting the season in the ECHL with the South Carolina Stingrays, Hagel signed with Iowa and remained with the club the rest of the season. In 46 games with the Wild, the Hamilton, ON native scored eight goals and added seven assists for 15 points.
"To play for the Wild was an honor and I was pleased with my opportunity to play in the AHL," said Hagel. "I was treated well by an organization that takes care of its players and is committed to winning. I'm happy to be back in Iowa."
Prior to joining the Wild, the rookie played in 21 games for South Carolina, scoring nine goals and posting 17 points. He began his pro career in spring of 2013, signing with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters. Hagel set up two goals for two points in six games for the Monsters. From 2008-12, he played in 92 ECAC games for Princeton, scoring 17 times and totaling 34 points. He graduated from Princeton in 2012 and used medical redshirt eligibility to play the 2012-13 season at Miami University (OH), scoring six goals and setting up 13 others for 19 points in 42 games. Marc's older brother Kyle Hagel plays for the AHL's Charlotte Checkers.
The Iowa Wild regular season is presented by Mercy Medical Center and begins in October. Fans may purchase seats to Opening Night, set for Friday, Oct. 17 at Wells Fargo Arena.
