Iowa Energy Announce Open Tryout Schedule

Des Moines, IA (August 23, 2011) - The 2011 NBA D-League Champion Iowa Energy have announced the dates and locations for their 2011 open tryouts. The Energy will host tryouts in Des Moines as well as Chicago, New Orleans and Washington D.C, home of the Energy's NBA affiliates, the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Hornets and Washington Wizards.

The tryout will be conducted by the Iowa Energy coaching staff. The Energy's 2011 championship team featured two players who attended open tryouts. Guards Stefhon Hannah and Shyron Ely were signed following their performances at Energy tryout camps.

"There have been a number of success stories involving players who attended open tryouts. If you want to play professional basketball, this is your chance to earn your way in," said Nick Nurse, Energy Head Coach.

Space is limited for all tryouts, and spots are reserved on a first come, first served basis. To register for the camp, please call 515-564-8550. For more information, visit www.IowaNBA.com. Participants must complete all paperwork to compete at the camp.

NEW ORLEANS TRYOUT

Date: Saturday, October 8th

Location: John A. Alario Sr. Event Center

at the Bayou Segnette Sports Complex

2000 Segnette Blvd.

Westwego, LA 70094

Time: 9AM - 4PM (doors open at 8AM)

Fee: $125 if registered by September 16th

$150 September 17th and beyond OR at door

Credit card, cash, cashier's check or money order only (NO personal checks)

DES MOINES TRYOUT

Date: Saturday, October 22nd

Location: Grand View College

2811 E. 14th Street

Des Moines, IA 50316

Time: 1PM-7PM (doors open at 12PM)

Fee: $125 if registered by September 16th

$150 September 17th and beyond OR at door

Credit card, cash, cashier's check or money order only (NO personal checks)

CHICAGO TRYOUT

Date: Saturday, October 29th

Location: Prairie Stone Sports and Wellness Center

5050 Sedge Boulevard

Hoffman Estates, IL 60192

Time: 9AM - 4PM (doors open at 8AM)

Fee: $125 if registered by September 16th

$150 September 17th and beyond OR at door
