Iowa Cubs Radio Broadcasts Moving to AM 940

December 3, 2008 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Iowa Cubs News Release

Iowa Cubs games will move to 940 KPSZ after being broadcast on KXNO the past six seasons.

"We greatly enjoyed our relationship with KXNO and Clear Channel Radio, and are looking forward to rejoining our friends at Des Moines Radio Group and KPSZ 940," Iowa Cubs president and general manager Sam Bernabe said.

"We are very excited to have the Iowa Cubs back at the Des Moines Radio Group where they belong," said Bill Wells, vice president and general manager of Des Moines Radio Group. "We've been a significant promotional partner with the Iowa Cubs, and airing their play-by-play broadcasts on 940's huge 10,000-watt signal only improves our relationship with the team, team management and their owners.

"Now you can listen to both the Chicago Cubs (on KRNT-AM 1350) and the Iowa Cubs on Des Moines Radio Group stations."

In addition to KPSZ and KRNT, other Des Moines Radio Group stations are Lazer 103.3, KIOA 93.3, Lite 104.1 and Star 102.5.

The Iowa Cubs open their 2009 season on April 3 at Round Rock. The home opener is April 17.
