Iowa Cubs Announce 2010 Promotional Schedule

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Cubs have announced the 2010 promotional calendar, which includes Iowa Cubs jersey shirt nights, bobble head giveaways, post-game fireworks and more. For the fourth consecutive season the Iowa Cubs will hand out jersey shirts of current and former Iowa Cubs including Ryne Sandberg and Randy Wells. The Famous Chicken will also return on Monday, June 14 and Tuesday, August 10. Dollar Days are also back on Mondays during the 2010 season. On select dates fans can enjoy $1 General Admission tickets and select concession items for just a buck. Also on the promotional calendar for the second year in a row is a Citizenship Naturalization Ceremony at Principal Park prior to the July 4 game. A holiday fireworks show will follow the game on Independence Day as well as July 5. Other promotions to look for this season are Klement's Dollar Dogs, the annual Dog Day, As Seen on TV Night and Autographed Baseball Giveaway. The 2010 promotions can be seen online here. Daily promotions also fill the 2010 calendar. On Sundays the DMARC Food Pantry will again be collecting canned food items at the gates and kids can run the bases post-game. Tuesdays bring Twofor- One Reserved Grandstand tickets with the Des Moines Register coupon and KRAFT Single Tuesday Night Tickets. On Tuesday, fans can bring in a KRAFT Singles package wrapper/proof of purchase to the ticket window for a Buy One Get One Free from KRAFT Singles. The Backyard Bash will be highlighted with several different bands playing outside the Cub Club before Wednesday night home games. The Mug Club, offering one free fill at the Bottom of the Fifth with your collector mug, is back on Thursdays at Principal Park. Also back this season are Friday Night Fireworks following Friday night home games. Daily promotions are online here. The Iowa Cubs were the recipient of the 2009 Bob Freitas Award, recognized by Baseball America as the triple-A "Organization of the Year" for the team's successful campaign and continued contribution to Minor League Baseball. The Iowa Cubs open the 2010 season on April 8 against the Nashville Sounds at 6:35 p.m. at Principal Park. Season tickets are on sale now by calling the Iowa Cubs at 515-243-6111.
