Introducing the All-New Charlottetown Islanders Fan Fest

August 28, 2019 - Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) - Charlottetown Islanders News Release

The Charlottetown Islanders are excited to announce an all-new event to celebrate the kick-off of our 2019-2020 season: The inaugural Charlottetown Islanders Fan Fest.

Fan Fest combines two staple events on the pre-season calendar - the annual Street Hockey Jamboree and Season Ticket Holder BBQ and Pick-Up - in to one big bash at the Eastlink Centre on Saturday, September 14th.

"The Fan Fest gives all fans, young and old, an opportunity to celebrate and get excited for another great season of Charlottetown Islanders hockey," said Islanders vice president of sales and marketing Jason Maclean. "By combining the Street Hockey Jamboree and the Season Ticket Holder BBQ, we have the ability to create one unforgettable day."

The Street Hockey Jamboree at Fan Fest will take place in the parking lot adjacent to the Eastlink Centre. Similar to years past, the event is open to boys and girls ages 6-12 and is free of charge. Teams will consist of four players and will be joined by an Islanders player or coach. Each team will be guaranteed four games in the rain-or-shine event. All registrations must be completed with teams of 4.

Every player will receive an Islanders T-shirt, Islanders kit bag and a coupon for one youth ticket to opening weekend. Family and friends are welcome to attend the event with the recommendation that they bring lawn chairs for seating.

Meanwhile, season ticket holders will be able to get their hands on their 2019-2020 season tickets in the main entrance of the Eastlink Centre along with early bird gifts, if applicable.

There will be a free BBQ provided for all in attendance, along with pizza provided by Domino's, pop and chips from Hot 105.5 and Ocean 100, and a number of family-friendly activities sure to entertain all!

Following the jamboree will be the official unveiling of the 2019-2020 Charlottetown Islanders, along with a live Q&A with Islanders head coach and general manager Jim Hulton, along with new assistant coach Kevin Henderson.
