Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

(Kannapolis, NC) – The Intimidators snapped a 20-inning scoring drought with four runs in the third inning but the Legends, powered by three home runs, proved too much to handle in Friday night's 8-5 win in Kannapolis.

Ryan Kochen's solo blast off Todd Deininger (1-3) in the first gave Lexington the lead which they added to in the top of the third inning on T.J. Soto's RBI single scoring Wilner Alvarez.

The Intimidators (1-7, 33-43) countered with four runs in the third inning off Legend's starter Devern Hansack highlighted by doubles from Dan Barnett and Andy Gonzalez putting Kannapolis ahead 4-2.

The lead was short-lived, however. In the top of the fourth inning, after a walk to Pat Peavey and an error allowing Freddy Acevedo to reach, John Fagan launched a Deininger pitch over the left field wall giving the Legends (4-4, 35-41) a 5-4 lead.

Hansack (7-5) settled down after the third inning and kept the Intimidators at bay. The win goes to Hansack, his seventh, giving the Legends five innings. Dan Freeman (12) closed out the ninth retiring the side in order for his 12th save.

With the loss, the Intimidators have lost four straight games and have dropped their last four games against the Legends. Game three of the series is Saturday night at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. Post-game fireworks presented by Hampton Inn follow the game.
