Pitcher Nick Gravelle of the Hickory Crawdads receives the South Atlantic League BC® Powder Pitcher of the Week honors on the heels of his teammate Alex Hart who was recognized with the same honor on June 20th, 2003. The Longview, WA native tossed a complete game 5-1 home victory against the Savannah Sand Gnats on June 20th. Gravelle scattered 4 hits and struck out 5 batters with no walks in the win going 1-0 on the week with a 1.00 ERA for the First Half Southern Division South Atlantic League Champions.

Catcher Brian McCann of the Rome Braves was smoking hot for his club this week hitting for a .412 batting average collecting 7 hits in his 17 at bats including 2 homeruns and 5 RBI in his 4 games played this week. The Athens, GA native also scored 3 runs, had a .765 slugging percentage and boasted a .474 on base percentage during his hot streak. Brian homered in back to back games on June 20th and 21st on the road versus the Asheville Tourists knocking in 3 runs on the 20th and another 2 runs on the 21st in games that Rome won 6-5 and lost 6-5 respectively.
