EASTLAKE, OH - Kannapolis needed a second chance to close out the Lake County Captains on Sunday night at Classic Park, as Kyle Shelton's home run helped the Intimidators to a 6-5 win in 10 innings.

Shelton crushed a 2-0 pitch off of Ryan Miller (0-2) in the top of the tenth for a two-run, game-winning home run. It was the third big fly of the season for the Charlotte native and it gave Dan Remenowsky a second chance to close out the win.

Remenowsky (6-3) had been unable to do so in the bottom of the ninth, allowing a two-out two-RBI double to Jeremie Tice to tie the game. Remenowsky made things interesting in the tenth as well, giving up a two-out RBI double to John Allman, but he got Adam Abraham to ground out to seal the victory.

The Intimidators had taken a 4-2 lead to the bottom of the ninth. Kannapolis' biggest rally came in the sixth when they got RBIs from John Gilmore and Shelton.

Joe Serafin looked sharp in a limited Intimidators debut. The southpaw gave up one run on two hits in four innings while striking out seven. His four walks did prove his undoing in the run-scoring inning, as Lake County got a run without a hit in the fourth to tie the game, 1-1.

T.J. McFarland got the start for Lake County, giving up three runs in 5 2/3 innings. He was on the hook for the loss until the later Captains rally.

The contest marked the halfway point of the second half. The Intimidators hold sole possession of first place in the Northern Division at 21-14, a full game ahead of Hickory and West Virginia.
