
International League Adds Buffalo-Native INF Jim Negrych to All-Star Roster

The International League today announced that Syracuse Chiefs INF JIM NEGRYCH has been added to the IL's All-Star roster for the 2012 Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 11 at Coca-Cola Field (7:00 p.m.), presented by the New Era Cap Company and the Buffalo News.
Negrych, a product of St. Francis High School where he was a two-time All-Western New York player, has .291 (48-165) with seven doubles, a triple, six home runs and 30RBI in 53 games with the Syracuse Chiefs -the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. On Wednesday, Negrych homered in Syracuse's 5-0 victory over the Bisons at Alliance Bank Stadium.
Along with the addition of Negrych, the International League announced that Indianapolis Indians INF Jordy Mercer and Pawtucket Red Sox INF Mauro Gomez will both be unable to attend as they are both with their respective major league teams. The International League's All-Star Roster now stands at 25 players.
The Pacific Coast League announced that Oklahoma City RedHawks catcher Landon Powell will no longer be attending this week's Triple-A All-Star Game. The PCL's roster for Wednesday's game also stands at 27 players.
