
Infielder Curley Promoted to High-A

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (Aug. 31, 2012) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have promoted infielder Chris Curley to the Winston-Salem Dash in the Class A-Advanced Carolina League. Curley hit .275 (52-189) and led the Intimidators with 11 home runs while driving in 29 runs, slugging .500 in 49 games in the South Atlantic League. There is no corresponding roster move at this time.
The White Sox signed Curley, 25, out of the Frontier League on July 7, where he was hitting .356 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI in 42 games with the Florence Freedom. In his first at-bat with Kannapolis, Curley launched a home run to left field. Since his first game with Kannapolis on July 8, his 11 home runs lead all SAL sluggers. Curley was named 2009 Mid-South Conference Player of the Year while at Campbellsville University.
The Intimidators wrap up their 18th season of professional baseball in Kannapolis this week with the team's final series of the year. Kannapolis hosts the Savannah Sand Gnats (New York Mets) tonight at CMC-NorthEast Stadium at 7:05 p.m. in the first of a 4-game set. CMC- NorthEast Stadium is located off I-85 at exit 63.
