Inferno to face Wildcatters in Semifinals

COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 17, 2008)-The Columbia Inferno will face the no. 1 seed Texas Wildcatters in the second round of the South Division playoffs. The best-of-five series schedule will have games one, two and five at Texas, while games three and four will be in Columbia.

Game One (at Texas): Friday, April 18 at 8:30 p.m. EDT Game Two (at Texas): Sunday, April 20 at 5:05 p.m. EDT Game Three: Tuesday, April 22 at 7:05 p.m. EDT Game Four*: Wednesday, April 23 at 7:05 p.m. EDT Game Five*: Friday, April 25 at 8:05 p.m. EDT (*=if needed)

The Inferno were 3-1-1 against the Wildcatters this year, including a 3-2 shootout victory in their last meeting on Feb. 24. Four players have three points this season against the Wildcatters, including Reid Cashman (one goal, two assists), Steve McJannet (three assists), Brad Ralph (one goal, two assists) and Daniel Sparre (one goal, two assists).

Columbia advances to the second round after having swept the no. 3 seed Florida Everblades in three games, while Texas advances after having beaten the no. 8 seed Mississippi Sea Wolves in four games.
