Inferno Signs UVM Defenseman

COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 15, 2007) - The Columbia Inferno announced the signing of rookie defenseman Ryan Gunderson, who recently graduated from the University of Vermont.

The 5'10, 180 lbs., Bensalem, Pennsylvania native appeared in 148 games with the Catamounts scoring four goals and 57 assists for 61 points. He was awarded the Jim Cross Coaches Award during his 2005-06 season at UVM.

"Ryan was Vermont 's most consistent player during his four years at UVM", said Coach Troy Mann. "He is a smart player who skates well and is considered a puck-moving defenseman, a component critical in today's game."

The Inferno hosts the Charlotte Checkers on Friday, March 16th at 7:05pm and again on Sunday, March 18th at 5:05pm. Tickets are available by calling 251-2222 or visiting the Carolina Coliseum Box Office on Greene Street.
