COLUMBIA, S.C. (July 3, 2007) - Head Coach Troy Mann announces that the Columbia Inferno have agreed to terms with defenseman Bryan Rodney for the 2006-07 season.

The 6'0", 205 lbs., London, Ontario native was acquired from the Charlotte Checkers at the end of the trade deadline in March. He played 14 games for the Inferno scoring two goals and nine assists for 11 points and appeared in 31 games for the Checkers, scoring two goals and 19 assists for 21 points. He played his rookie season with the Charlotte Checkers during the 2005-06 season skating in 59 games, scoring four goals and 21 assists for 25 points. Before turning professional, the 23-year-old played for the London Knights during the 2004-05 season in the Ontario Hockey League scoring 62 points (23g-39a) in 64 games.

"It was our intension when we acquired Bryan at the trade deadline that he would be part of our 2007-08 plans," said Coach Mann. "I look forward to him continuing with the Inferno organization. We will be counting on Bryan to be a top performer on our blue line especially on our power play this upcoming season."
