
Bombers Announce 2007-2008 Home Schedule

Dayton, OH- The American Conference Champion Dayton Bombers, in conjunction with the ECHL and Ervin J. Nutter Center, announced today their home and away schedule for the 2007-2008 regular season.
The Bombers will start the season on the road against in-state division rival, the Cincinnati Cyclones, on Friday, October 19, at US Bank Arena in Cincinnati. The Bombers open their home schedule when they host the Cyclones at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20 at the Nutter Center.
The 36-game home schedule features 10 games on Friday nights, 12 on Saturdays and 5 on Sundays; games on Monday through Saturday will be at 7:00 p.m., while Sunday games will be played at 5:00 p.m.
The Bombers will welcome some new teams to the Nutter Center this season when they host the newest addition to the ECHL and the North Division, the Elmira Jackals from Elmira, NY, and the returning Mississippi Sea Wolves, who took a two year hiatus following Hurricane Katrina. The Jackals will make their first visit to the Nutter Center on Tuesday, November 27 and the Sea Wolves will take to the ice on both Friday, February 8 and Sunday, February 10.
The Bombers will play two games at historic Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio, on Saturday, December 15 and Saturday, February 23 against the Johnstown Chiefs, both at 7:30 p.m. The schedule also features two five-game home stands at the Nutter Center (October 28-November 7 and January 4-11).
During the holiday season the Bombers will face the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday night, December 29. The Bombers also face the Nailers for a special President's Day game on Monday, February 18.
As part of a seven-game road trip from February 29 to March 8, the Bombers will play four games against teams in the South Division, including the South Carolina Stingrays, Columbia Inferno, and two games against the Charlotte Checkers. Call the Bombers office to register for the fan bus.
The Bombers will close out the regular season at home on Saturday, April 5 against the Johnstown Chiefs.
The ECHL is celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier Professional âAA' Hockey League in North America. The ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that will have 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia, Canada, in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals.
The ECHL will play 900 games beginning October 18 and concluding April 5. The conference and division alignments and the format for the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs will be determined and approved at a later date by the ECHL Board of Governors.
