INF Austin Riley to AAA Gwinnett, RHP Andres Santiago to Mississippi

PEARL, MS - The Atlanta Braves have announced the following roster moves that affect the Mississippi Braves roster. INF Austin Riley has been transferred from Double-A Mississippi to Triple-A Gwinnett and RHP Andres Santiago has been transferred from Gwinnett to Mississippi.

Riley, 21, is promoted to Gwinnett after playing 75 games for the M-Braves over the 2017 and 2018 seasons batting .321 with 19 doubles, 14 home runs, 47 RBI and 45 runs scored. His .333 batting average currently ranks seventh in the Southern League while he led the league in extra-base hits (19), slugging percentage (.677) and total bases (67). Riley was tied for first in home runs with six and second with 20 RBI.

Riley became the first M-Braves player to record two triples in one game since Ozzie Albies did so on April 17, 2016 against Chattanooga. Riley recorded his two-triple game on April 18 against Pensacola. He also had a two-homer game on April 12 at Biloxi, the third of his career, and first of the season for the M-Braves. A native of Hernando, MS, Riley was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2015 as their selection in the Competitive Balance Round A (No. 41 overall) out of Desoto Central High School (Hernando, MS).

Santiago, 28, has appeared in five games this season for Gwinnett, three being starts and is 1-1 with a 4.03 ERA. In two games, one start for the M-Braves, Santiago has no record and a 1.13 ERA.

The Mississippi Braves active roster stands at 25 with 6 on the Disabled List.
