Indy Eleven Kickoff Week to Ramp up Excitement for Club's Inaugural Game

INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, March 20, 2014) - If it seems like Indy Eleven Professional Soccer has been everywhere in the past year, just wait until Indy Eleven Kickoff Week, a week-plus celebration of soccer across the Indianapolis area from April 4-12. In the build-up to its Inaugural Game at Michael A. Carroll Stadium at IUPUI on April 12 vs. the Carolina RailHawks, Indy Eleven will host nine straight days of events to get fans ready for professional soccer in the Hoosier State.

Below is the preliminary schedule of events for Indy Eleven Kickoff Week; as details for each event are updated they will be posted on the "EVENTS" page at IndyEleven.com and announced via the team's official Facebook and Twitter homes.

Friday, April 4 - Exhibition vs. Indiana University - 7:30 p.m. ET kick-off

The fun starts on Friday, April 4, when Indy Eleven will get a "rehearsal" at its home of Michael A. Carroll Stadium at IUPUI during a highly-anticipated exhibition against Indiana University. Tickets for the match will be limited to Indy Eleven's 7,000-member season ticket base, which can purchase their $11 seats for the match online via their Indy Eleven Account HQ page.

Saturday, April 5 - Indy Eleven Inaugural Kickoff Ball - 8:00 p.m.-midnight

Get dressed to the nines for the Indy Eleven Inaugural Kickoff Ball, taking place at the sparkling Dallara IndyCar Factory in Speedway. The stylish soiree will feature drinks, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, music from DJ Indiana Jones and DJ Gabby Love to get your dance on to and the chance to mingle with Indy Eleven players and staff a week before the club's first ever game on April 12th.

Proceeds from the ball will benefit the Indiana Soccer Foundation, working with Indy Eleven to build a futsal field at an Indianapolis park for use by the entire community. A General Admission ticket costs $50 and includes gourmet appetizers, a premium open bar and a gift bag. Limited VIP tickets are available for $70 and include access to the VIP Players' Lounge with bottle service and an upgraded gift bag. Sunday, April 6 - XBOX FIFA 14 IndyCup Championship Tournament - 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Gamers are invited to show their stuff on the virtual pitch in the second match date of the FIFA 14 IndyCup Championship Tournament Series at the Microsoft Store in Keystone at the Crossing. Stay tuned for details on how to sign up for one of the tournament's coveted 64 spots and which Indy Eleven players will be crashing the party to take on all challengers! Online registration will start on March 28 via IndyEleven.com.

Monday, April 7 - Community Practice - 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Indy Eleven will shift its training to the early evening so that fans can see the squad get put through its paces by Head Coach Juergen Sommer. Games, raffles and other activities will coincide with the training session, which will wrap up with photo and autograph opportunities with members of the team's roster. Details on the location for the community practice will be announced in the coming days.

Tuesday, April 8 - Social Media Day

Indy Eleven will be "virtually everywhere" throughout the day on Tuesday, when players and personalities will infiltrate cyberspace with Twitter takeovers, Facebook Q&A sessions and a Reddit AMA session. In addition, Indy Eleven will hold another scavenger hunt for official team merchandise at locations throughout the city.

Wednesday, April 9 - Cultural Trail Pub Crawl - 5:00-9:00 p.m.

Fans are invited to partake in some tasty brews and squeeze in a little hike during the team's Cultural Trail Pub Crawl, featuring opportunities to pick up Indy Eleven giveaways and meet players at each of the crawl's three stops - The Chatham Tap, Front Page, and the Tomlinson Tap Room.

A $5-per-person registration fee will be collected as the crawl moves on, with proceeds going towards both the Indianapolis Cultural Trail Fund and the Indiana Soccer Foundation/Indy Eleven futsal court project.

Thursday, April 10 - Lew Wallace Birthday Celebration - 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Indy Eleven will head to Crawfordsville High School on Thursday evening to celebrate the 187th birthday of General Lew Wallace. Shadow of Shiloh author Gail Stephens will give a lecture focusing on Wallace's role in key moments in our nation's history, while Indy Eleven players will meet with fans and enjoy free birthday cake in honor of the man who led the 11th Infantry Regiment for which the club is named after.

Friday, April 11 - Wear Your Colors Day / Downtown Rally - Lunchtime

If it's the 11th of the month, you know Indy Eleven will be out and about - especially on the eve of its Inaugural Game! Indy Eleven will ask all fans to don the red, white & blue of their favorite team on Friday and invites all fans to a downtown rally at lunchtime to get officially introduced to their checkered-clad heroes. The time and location of the rally will be announced by Indy Eleven in the coming days.

Friday, April 11 - La Plaza Night of the America Dinner - 5:45 p.m.

Indy Eleven is proud to sponsor the 10th edition of La Plaza's Night of the Americas fundraising dinner, taking place at the Indiana Roof Ballroom beginning at 5:45 p.m. This year's dinner will feature the culture and food of 2014 FIFA World Cup host country Brazil, with the celebration including cocktails and hors d'Oeuvres, a gourmet Brazilian meal, the presentation of the Hispanic American Service Awards, the La Plaza Scholarship Fund ceremony and some lively Brazilian music to help close things out on the dance floor. Saturday, April 12 - Inaugural Game vs. Carolina RailHawks - 7:30 p.m.

All the build-up will finally pay off at Carroll Stadium on April 12, when Indy Eleven's Inaugural Game against the Carolina RailHawks will kick off a new era for soccer in the Hoosier State. A limited number of tickets remain available for this special night of soccer and can be purchased online via the "TICKETS" section of IndyEleven.com or over the phone by calling the Indy Eleven Front Office at 317-685-1100 weekdays from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. ET.
